Default shaker problems?

so i have been hearing A LOT about the problems with the shaker systems, and i was wondering where the problem in the setup is. is it just in the head unit? or is it all the stuff that is bad (amps, speakers, subs)?

i am looking to replace my head unit with a gps one, and i was wondering if i should just get a whole new sound system while i am at it

i bought a alpine unit but it has some glitch it doesn't like the factory speakers, everytime i turn it on the speakers pop, the guys at visions that installed it said that it was a 6v start and the speakers are getting a 12v or something to that effect. the popping isn't harmful however, just annoying.

The Shaker is a piece of garbage when it doesn't work! And why shouldn't your car stereo work?
Mine? Not only will it not play any cds I make in any form so far, now the driver's side speaker makes a rattling with the bass notes. But not when I'm listening to some jungle music! I'm hearing it while listening to the news! And the bass isn't even up all the way! Tell your dealer to DELETE the Shaker! All 3 models. To proove my point go look at what stereo is in other Ford models. Look at the Escape of the new Fusion. Now why does the flagship Mustang GT have the same radio?
Give us the ability to delete it and a copy of the new Crutchfield catalog!

My 2005 Coupe is 3 weeks old, and a third Shaker 1000 is already on order by the dealer. The first unit got jammed and read CD ERROR after 3 days. The second replacement unit sounds great and plays CDs, but, the buttons don't light up at night. Makes it kind of difficult to see the controls at night. I hope the 3rd one (also on back order) is going to be OK, because I will move to an aftermarket CD system next. Otherwise, no cpmplaints with my first Mustang.

Guys, start b*tchin at your dealer.... They'll get you a refund! I got $695 for the "Shaker 500" that was installed in my car (ok, it only took 9 months BUT) I think $695 in the pocket is better than a kick in the teeth

Just my pennies worth
