RE: 2006 Shelby/Saleen/Roush
Saleens are dead sexy... too bad the closest I've gotten to any of these cars was in Project Gotham Racing 3 for Xbox360.... [:@]
I'm thinking in three years or so, I'll trade my 'stang in for a Saleen.

RE: 2006 Shelby/Saleen/Roush
There are good arguments to be made on both sides. I will say this. The 5k+ dealer markup for the gt500 isn't something I'd be paying. When you pay that much over sticker for a car, it doesn't make it a very good investment. As soon as you drive it off the lot, it will have just depreciated about 8k$. Both cars look good, and have some visual similarities. One thing I don't understand is how someone can say they think the Saleen is ugly, but the gt500 looks great. They are similar enough I don't see how someone could like the looks of one, but hate the other. What that really shows is who is anti- Saleen.

Prices
OK, so some of you are talking about over sticker markups and what not... What are the price ranges for these different options? and what is this about certain models/years not being available?
Shelby $xx,xxx - $XX,XXX
Saleen $xx,xxx - $XX,XXX
Roush $xx,xxx - $XX,XXX
oh and if i decide to go with the base model:
Base GT Model $xx,xxx - $XX,XXX
+ $x,xxx for this upgrade
+ $x,xxx for that upgrade
etc...

$25,000 GT Base ('06 is more now)
$2,500 for all the factory upgrades.
$3,000 to get your car to look like mine (paint & parts)
$5,000 to add more HP. (still saving my $$$)
====================================
$35,500 car after all said and done. - The near perfect '67 Shelby inspired '05 GT.

I'd say Saleen. They're beasts and they're rare to see driving about.
The Roush is an overpriced body kit and CAI.
The Shelby is dissapointing. Assuming that the S/C makes average S/C gains that leaves the 5.4 block (in N/A form) making only 325-ish HPO for a giant weight gain. No thank you, sir.
