Default 2006 mustang Torque/Performance PROBLEM!

So i have had my GT coupe for almost 2000 miles now, and i notice sometimes that when i floor it for passing or just to punch it, the transmission will kick down and then start revving but it will take almost 2-3 thousand rpms for the torque to kick in then its as if the car takes off. Almost like turbo lag, yet there is no turbo. I had seen a couple threads regarding this same issue, but i need to know if anyone knows why it does this intermittenly? Why would the engine rev and accelerate lightly and then 2/3rds of the way to 6000 rpms SUDDENLY start giving me the power i want. This delay would seem electronic not mechanical, but any advice would be great. Thanks
