Default Motor Mounts Install help

I was wondering if anyone has done this there self, and if so How did you lift the engine casue I don't have an engine lift and i would like to somehow use my floorjack to lift it about 2in. Any information would probally be helpful.

Thanks,

evil,
i did mine about 2weeks ago. i did have the luxury of using my dads shop with a lift but they are so easy to do you absolutely can do it at home. just remember when you use a floorjack to put a piece of wood(4x4or2x4)on the jack and raise by jacking up on the front pulley. don't go more than 2-3" though the heater hoses have plastic fittings and are really close to the back of the engine. i used prothane mounts and they work and look great...too bad nobody can see them.

Thanks for the info, I ordered the same mounts, they should be here before the weekend and was wondering if you removed anything to free the engine not counting mount nuts, casue I see this genernator looking thing on the pass. side of the engine in the front that has what looks like AC tubing running to it, but the ford service dvd doesn't call it the AC will that be ok? casue right now all i have off is dip stick starter and steering casue i'm doing those LT headers at the same time.

thats the a/c compressor. you don't have to take it off and no other items to take off or loosen. it is one of the easiest things i've done on the car yet.

they are bolted to the frame and to the engine. i meant that you didn't have to take off any accessories or stuff like dat.[8D]

Why did you replace the engine mounts?

Seems to me the factory Hydro ones work just fine.

Clearance issues with LT headers, and new mount mounts fix it plus they'll hold up better in the long run.
