Fanblade wheels
I have been shopping for an '06 GT and found one today that has all of the options I am looking for except that it has the fanblade wheels. To be honest I never really liked them in photos I have seen but after seeing them in person on a black '06 GT I am changing my mind a little. Just curious what others think of the 18" fanblade wheels.
The car I drove today with the 18" wheels felt quite a bit stiffer than ones with 17" wheels. I am sure a lot of that is because I was alone during the test drive today and other times the sales guy and my daughter were with me. I keep seeing mention of a "unique suspension" on the GTs with 18" wheels. Anyone have more info on that? I have searched the forums but have not found anything. In fact I can't get any search results on anything.
Thanks and I hope to be a Mustang owner by this time next week

RE: Fanblade wheels
I've seen it mentioned that the 18" wheel options got a unique suspension - anyone know exactly what is different? I know for the convertible the springs were softened a bit no matter which wheel option is on the car.

Sulley,
The following is my post to the topic Optional 18" rims which is still available. Both the bullits and fans are available. The bullits are more in tune with the old Mustang but I really like fans. To each his own. And there is a difference in ride and handling with the 18s over the 17s.

I have a 2006 redfire metallic GT and, although they were not available at the time I purchased (about 3 months ago), high polished alluminum 18" bullits are now available. Check the Ford website for more info. Without engaging in what might be a religious debate over preference, after driving both the 17s and 18s, the 18s and associated handling package hugs the road and provides a level of control unlike any Mustang I have driven or owned. For the $900, in my humble opinion, go for it! Either way (bullits or fans), you can't go wrong with the 18s. I like both and have no reservations about my fans.

RE: Fanblade wheels
Well I got the black GT with the fanblade wheels and I couldn't be happier. The wheels really do look unique and damn does that thing stick to the road! I drove a couple of GTs with the standard wheels and there is definately a difference in the suspension. I would still like to know what those differences are.
Hope to get some pictures tomorrow if it doesn't rain and I can park it long enough
