Default Forged Internals...

Its been discussed many time as something that should probably be done if you want to push the boost on superchargers, BUT for a noob like me can some of you chime in on what should be done, and the $$$ including labor??

Thanks in advance!

You can do DSS shortblock upgrade (pistons, crank, rods, molly rings main support) for 3899 Labor would be at least 10 hours more likely 15-20. YOu will need to have it done in a clean room which most shops don't have so you will have to utilize a shop that is a little more expensive but I would say 70-100 an hour. So if all you did was that I would imagine 5-6k
I am having it done right now but am doing a lot of other things at the same time so they have cut me some slack on labor hours.
Still waiting for some of the parts to arrive but hopefully I will be able to post dyno's and other goodies in a few weeks.

how does that compare to mmrs (MMR 2005/2006 Mustang Annihilator 4.6 Shortblock $2799) ? The labor is going to kill =-/ I wish I got 70-100 an hour =-/

You are going to have to pull the block, and put it back together again. If you are just planning on sending it off to them. Also thats just the short block the rest will be stock. Its a time consuming process. As far as the Annihilator 4.6 Shortblock goes I don't know I have not read anything about it. But by rough assumptions I imagine it is the same things as dss forged internals upgrade. If its cheaper and just as high of quality I say go for it. I am already committed to my operation so looks like a better deal is possible. The key to this whole operation is clean room. Without it you are asking for a disaster. Any bit of dirt or dust in there is going to give you serious problems. I just looked at my invoice again it will be 2100 for the motor with the blower. So imagine that the blower is 10 hrs they are quoting me 11 hrs to pull the motor forge it and put it back in.
Hope this helps

MMR uses a 03-04 cobra iron block so that will add a couple of hundred pounds to your front end and you will have to change your mounting hardware to get the block to mount to the 05.

I talked to Jim from JDM and thats how much he thought the weight difference was. I have HP Motorsport looking into that block and they get some specs on it. I'll keep you updated on this.
