Hello all, My car will be here in a couple of days and I had a question about Tint. I have a Black GT with Charcoal interior and I am going to have the windows tinted. I think that the Washington State limit is 35%. I am going to stay with in those guide lines but I also don't want to have my car look to dark (drug dealer look). Do any of you have any suggestions as to what % would look the best with maybe a picture of your car that I can look at? Thank you!

 

Im not big into tinting but just make sure you are 100% sure what your state limit is before you do it.

 

I am also looking at tinting mine, Ill have to look at a 35% to see how dark it is, I dont want the total blackout druggy look either. Ive also heard that you need to take into account the small amount of tint that is currently in the windows - if you tint at 35% it will probably test lower, like maybe 32% which could mean a ticket. I dont know if this is true, but Ive heard from someone that this actually happened to them.

How does 35% look for any of you that have tinted at this % ??

I have a black GT with charcoal interior and i recently got my windows tinted with 25%. You can still see through it deff not the drug dealer look lol. Although when it rains it becomes a lot less transparent. I think if you go with the 35% you will be fine.

I have a Vista Blue GT I too was concerned about not wanting tickets, but the 35% was just too light (barely tinted). So I decided, if I was going to spend the money to get it done, I might as well go with something a bit darker (20%) but not so dark as to say "hey, come give me a ticket"; Looks really cool and works very well for lowering the temp inside the car.

 

Thanks for the input. I will probably go with the 35% but it would still be nice to see some pictures of one that already has had it done with that tint %. Thank you for the link Davisr014 it confirms what I was told about WA state.

 

I tinted my side windows 35% and the rear window 20% (makes it nice at night when cars are behind you seeing how we dont have a factory autodimming mirror)

 

mine is 5% all the way around. The law here is 35% and I dont sell drugs!

 

Agreed. 5% looks awesome on sports cars. My car and my moms car both have 5% tint and we have had no problems.
