i ordered a GT vert with 17" wheels, and the dealership submitted the order on January 27. since then, i decided the 18" wheel package would be better (it supposedly has softer springs & shocks -- i still plan to replace the factory wheels with my own). yesterday i called the dealership but my salesperson was off. i talked to his manager who said it was too late to make the change even though a build date has not been set. is this true? i figured a minor upgrade would be possible as long as the build date was not confirmed

If the car has not been assigned a VIN yet you can make a change. I did (and then went back to my original color choice) Your build date come after your VIN, so you may already have one assigned and just not a build date

the springs are the same with the 17 inch and the 18 inch wheels. If you have a build date and no vin then there should be no problem making minor adjustments.

i changed my order three times........wheels, color, wheels. sounds like your dealer is jacking yeah.

i figure if ford made me wait for over 9 months, i could change my order as better wheels and a new color became available.
