there is no difference between the 2. The pony logo one is just marketed to V6 owners.
I thought GT/standard bumper cover bottoms were molded different, and thats why they offered 2 types???

That is correct. The mud flaps are designed differently to fit bumper contour.

i asked the parts guy at my local Ford dealer and he said there was no difference. Just the logo.

Has anyone actually compared the 2 side by side???

This is what I had in mind: http://www.fordaccessories.com/produ...ashGuards.aspx

I noticed that they looked a little different from yours.

Hmm, might as well tape a paper towel to the fender. That doesn't look like it will stop air, let alone mud; looks too small.

I put the rear Ford ones on, probably wouldn't be a lot of help in water, I have 315's on the rear but will never drive in wet conditions. I don't think they look bad and may give some protection against rocks & dirt.

Just a heads-up, but if you read on there, it says that the flaps in the picture aren't the same as the 05-06 version.

There are 2 types available for our cars, the flat ones and the molded ones. I've seen them all and the flat ones look too small and really don't give a nice "fit" when installed. The molded ones obviously fit very well and look much nicer in addition to being larger. There are 2 choices in molded ones, and there is a slight difference in the "GT" and the "V6" flaps so now you are down to just one choice. The GT flaps are plain black, no logo, no lettering, etc. The V6 flaps have "MUSTANG" molded onto the lower portion but it really is not noticable on the car unless you get down there and look. I put the molded ones on and they do a great job of stopping all the dirt from hitting the back of the fender and wheel well. They install with the factory screws so there is no additonal hardware required, but they don't have a solid feel to them so I used slightly longer screws with flat washers and installed a third screw between the 2 factory screws and now they seem nice and tight. Hope this helps!

Has anyone tried to paint the mud-flaps? I'm thinking a can of touch-up paint should do the trick since they're not that noticeable to begin with...
