Default 18x10 Deep Dish Bullits ?

Hi guys I am planning on ordering the 18X10 Deep Dish Bullits like the ones pictured below made for the 2005 Mustang I need some advice and any tips on these wheels and tires. I know about the front spacers I will have to run but I have some questions and any advice or tips are welcomed.

I need help deciding what size tires to run and what brand do you guys like, I am not looking for a low profile tire I want a tire with more sidewall.

I was looking at 275/35/18 & 255/45/18 etc.

What tire size would you recommend?
What brand?
If any of you guys are are running 18x10 what size tire and brand are you running?

Hope its not to many questions and just answer what you want don't have to answer all the questions above.

Also if any one knows who owns the blue GT below if you could PM me his screen name so I could pm him and find out what size tire he is running and what brand.

Thanks for any help.

TJ-
long time no see...I started some confusion by reposting my favorite wheel pic from last fall- searched/redirected them to this thread- a couple others like the look a bunch too Didnt you also have more pics of this same car too(I only saved the one)?

Anyway, Could you elaborate on the spacer issue? I wasnt sure if the deepdish had to have them, but you mentioned front only?

Hi Folks,

I was under the impression that the spacers needed on the front were due to the specific design of that wheel--they won't clear the front calipers.

Anyway, I am also looking into 18x10"s (but not bullits) during the summer months, and I know that Roush runs this size with 275/40s on all four corners. I'm reasonably sure they use +45mm offset on all four, which brings the wheels very flush with the fender. Here's a pic a guy sent me of his wheels.

I've talked with other folks who run the same offset on 18x9.5"s w/the 275/40s and they are showing similar wheel to fender alignment. One guy said he hears rubbing on the inside wheel well if he's fully clocked and hits a big dip (while he's parking sometimes). Other than that, this combo clears everything. Still, if the deep-dish bullits you're looking into need the spacers for caliper clearance (something that won't be an issue with a different wheel design), then you'll want to take that into account when figuring the offset.

For my set up, I'm looking for some pretty full-on max performance summer tires on them, so I'm looking at Kumho Ecsta MX or BFG g-Force T/A KD.

Hope that helps.
Best,
-j

I don't know enough about tires to tell you what size he's running from looking at the pic......but I'm relatively positive that he's running some Goodyear Eagle F1s. I don't know any other tire out there right now that uses that tread pattern.

ThisBlood, I think that those are Yokohama AVS Sport. This is from the Tire Rack site:
Also, TJ, trey929 just posted that his deep dish wheels are sticking out further than he thought and he's not happy with it. Might want to PM him and trade notes.

Best,

Nah! I take it back, I think ThisBlood is right--look more like F1 GS-D3s than Yokos. [&:]

I'm not so sure about that Philostang........the tires in the picture have that V link pattern that the F1's have. Those Yoko's have a staggered "weave" pattern. I won't bet my life on it, but they still look like F1's to me. Not that it matters, of course, the F1' and Yoko's are both kick@$$ tires.

Yeah, those look to be the Eagle F1's like mine. Good tire so far, though I only have 600 on 'em.
As far as the 10's. I'd be careful with a deepdish w/ 45mm offset. Especially with spacers. It sounds like that'll put 'em way out.

Well, I just ordered my rims and tires after much sweating the choicees.

I got the bullitt deep dish 18 x 9 with Nitto 255-45-18 in the front (they come with a spacer for the caliper clearance).
I also got the bullitt deep dish 18x10 with Nitto 285-45-18 for the rear. Some said go with the 295 or 305's. I saw the pics of the steeda car with 18x9.5 with 275's and it look liked plenty of clearance to bump up to a 18x10 and 285's.

PM me and I will tell you by this weekend....they should be in by them.

BTW I ordered the rims from mustang tuning....very pleased so far and the tires from discount tire direct. the fronts ran 168.00 each and the rear 197.00 each.
