Default Unusual sight at my local Shell

This is not really a Mustang post per se, but given our cars' kinda low fuel economy it makes more sense posting it here than a Prius forum..

So I go to my local Shell to fill up the car. It's self-serve so I am pumping the gas and not really paying attention. I look at the various warnings and notes on the pump. Along with the normal "no smoking" and "turn off engine" and all that, is one line, at the bottom of the sticker:

Thank you for supporting global terrorism.

I closely examined the sticker to see if I read it right, and I did. Then I looked to see if it was maybe a prank or something but EVERY pump at the station had the same sticker. I'm utterly confused why a gas company would have such a sign. Is it some kind of strange corporate level Shell self-satire?

First, these cars get great mpg for 300hp, my 1985 LX 5.0 coupe weighed 2900lbs, had 210hp with 2.73 gears and got maybe 16 on the highway and 13 in the city and it wasn't an LEV vehicle.

As for the sticker some moron with more time than brains put them there.

Agreed, the same tree huggers that are still driving a car to the gas station to put up stickers. If you're going to talk the talk walk the walk.
