I was 18 years and 10 months when I got my 2005 V6. I figured, I have the rest of my life to grab a V8. Might as well save myself $4K and some insurance money. [8D]

I was 20 when I bought my 05 GT Vert and only pay $1400 a year for full coverage with State Farm. I have a lot of discounts though. The insurance was less for the convertible then it was for the coupe! Still can't figure that one out. The only reason that I can think of is that they think you're not going to race it if it's a vert.

Yeah, i'm 18 and had my car for over a year now. Getting a razzi ground effects kit installed, and some 20 or 22 inch rims (different from the picture). Plus some street scene window louvers. Theres a chopshop pic of it here:

Let me ask another question, how many 16-18 year olds bought their own Mustang? Not mom and paps.

There are better reasons not to get a manual. My reason, I'm the only one that can drive stick in my family and I have to park outside. My parents leave for work an hour earlier than me, and it's illegal to park on the street over night in my city... so I naturally block the garage. So..

1- My parents need to be able to move my car every morning.
2- In case of an emergency, my parents need to be able to drive my car.

And yes, I'm paying every penny for my Mustang. [8D]

**** I'd like to know who has their own insurance policy too. I'm 20 and everything is in my name, policy and trucks I own and I have recently looked into the stang and it falls somewhere in between 7-800 just for car payment and insurance on one of these vehicles just for me, I couldn't imagine the prices for kids 16-18 years old, how are u guys affording all this while still in school?

Well for me i am paying every cents for my mustang. My parents said that i have to pay for all and in a way i like it paying for it all, its something i got to work for and makes me a better person all in all. So yea i got to pay for all of my car, upgrades/ mods, insurance, gas, etc.......

I'm paying just under $3200 a year. About $260 a month with Wawanesa, full coverage and everything... they'll shine my *** if someone even sneezes on me while driving. Car payments are $462 a month for 60 months; have about 50 months left. I'm currently making $14.12/hour for 6 hours and the Corporation I work for pays for my college tuition (just as long as I do well... if I get a B average they pay for 80%, an A average 90%, but a C average I get nothing). You can imagine I'm doing fine... I dip into overdraft quite often, but I'm only charged $0.04 for every $100 I overdraft, so I can afford to be in the red every other month (credit union, not a greedy bank).
