i paid sticker for mine - 27.5k

the first dealership i went to wanted to charge 5k over sticker - this is in CA. Found a dealer who wouldn't charge a premium for the GT. all you have to do is come into a dealership with another (decent) price, and walk away every time they try to tell you their car is going to cost a "little" more. don't let these bums charge you even $1 over sticker - it's a rip off. there are enough GTs and V6s around now that they can't really justify charging you much more over sticker - if anything.

I placed a order for a bone stock gt in nov 05, dealer was letting me have it at invoice which was 24,180 ..after a 4 month wait the dealer had the wrong interior color ...I was pissed ...soooo I went to another dealer and got my windveil blue with just the active theft and the premium wheels for 25,500 which I thought was a decent deal ...that was feb 2 of this year...

I paid $19,600 for my coupe. I got a deal through the internet sales department - $1500 off sticker. Not to bad.

I paid $800 over dealer invoice but only because I was upside down on my trade. (The wife is not as careful with her cars as I am.)

I guess I got lucky, we had the first one in town and they gave us $1k off. This was back in like Oct 04 or around there.

I paid sticker. They only get 1 a year and they would not come off the price at all. I had been looking for 8 months. $28,500. I wanted it so bad and was tired of looking all other dealerships had theirs marked up $3 to $4 thousand.

Sticker 29,200 paid 27,080.
I found out about the x-plan pricing and searched around the net and go a pin number. Easiest car purchase ever.

This topic is a lil too broad. IMO the original question should have stated what type of mustang.
Obviously the 05-06 V6's are going to be able to get better deals and up to a couple thousand off the sticker price.
The '05 GT tended to go no less than sticker unless you got lucky or in some cases a few thousand over the sticker price especially later in the year when more people wanted them and they were no longer being made to make room for the '06's.
The '06 GTs go for the sticker but mostly they can still be brought down from the sticker because there are more of them and they are still being produced...
