Just wrapped up installing HIDs in my '10 GT
After owning a few vehicles in the past with HIDs (aftermarket and OEM), I knew it probably wouldn't be long till I upgraded to HID's again. I tried to limp on by with some silverstars, and while decent, they weren't HIDs. For being halogen, the factory setup isn't all that bad, sure blows away the crap thats in my '01 Focus.
Install wasn't bad at all, I put hids in my '05 Mazda 3, so I knew what I was in for. Hardest part was figuring out where I wanted to put stuff so it looked clean, and getting the wiring connector off the passenger side bulb. Damn thing was stuck on there pretty well.
I purchased a DDM branded 55watt 6000k kit, which offered the bulbs with highbeam function. Paid $103 with a lifetime warranty for it shipped to my door. Which is far less than what I've seen some kits on here advertise selling for.
Comparison between the HID and the SilverStar.
Both over to HID.
Lowbeam cutoff.
Highbeam cutoff.
HID foglights next on the list?
Where I mounted the RH ballast. Also ziptied up most of the wiring harness up in that general area, the rest is tucked up by the washer fluid tank and zip tied up to the main engine harness under the black plastic radiator panel cover. The power wire goes to the fusebox, and the ground wire is hooked to the chassis ground near the strut tower by the battery.
Where the LH ballast was mounted.
Left the fuse easily accessible in case it went out.

just a hint i did the ones for fog and heads, i would get the heavy duty 24 " zip ties for ballast, i used the real auto doubleback and they started sagging from engine heat and that was in colder weather. just a tip. they look good love mine matter fact the fogs work better than heads sometimes, take to local inspection station have a 8 " long 7 mm allen/hex head and have them help adjust, takes about 10 mines.

Yeah, I imagine the fogs would be a bit ridiculous too. But hey, I look at it this way. I can afford to be a bit ridiculous.
A Mustang GT was always one of my dream cars, I just never was in a position to have one before now. Figure I might as well go all out with it.
Not like it really matters that much anyways, I only drive the damn thing like 1 or 2 days a week. Pretty soon won't be any cause it will be sitting in the garage with a battery tender on it while the fluffy white stuff is falling.
I just wish I had a slightly better beater. My '01 Focus is pretty damn anemic. I think it has all of 100hp or something of that nature. 0-60 in about 20 seconds. Woo, she's a blast. However, snow tires for its gangster 14" steel wheels were all of $46 a piece, I can't complain too much. Nevermind the fact I only paid $250 for the car.

The fogs are not as bad as might think, no worse than a lexux or infinity running up on you, the regular HIDS light it up, the fogs with HID give that nice extra just forward of bumper area light up, 4300's on heads, 6000's on fogs give a bright white when on together
