i have this idea in my head for some custom GT emblems on the fenders of my car. I know some have complained about the black horse on the GT, but i really like the blacked outlook (as if you couldn't tell from my car). I have been kicking around the idea of getting the dealer to paint me a coupe new GT side emblems in a chrome black like the pony and paint the gray inset stripe grabber blue like the outside of my car. What do you guys think? Too much? they want $120 for the new emblems, painted and installed. not too bad.

You could probably paint the panels youself using gloss black and something close to grabber blue and save yourself some dough. $120 seems a little high.

Are you going to do anything to the rear emblem?

that seems like a good price. figure the emblems are prob worth a pretty penny.

I found this video on YouTube where they installed black GT emblems on a 2008. He says that they bought the OEM emblems from Ford, sanded them down, and spray painted them. Start at the 15:50 mark.

That looked surprisingly easy. do any of you know if they make grabber blue touch up paint you can buy at the store, or do you need to get it directly from ford?

Black emblem would look nice.

Shane, I don't think that's a common enough color for stores to have it. BUT, I think paint shops may have them. GL

I talked to the local ford place and the emblems are only about $15 each and the GB touchup paint is $12. i could get all tech stuff and give it a go myself for under $50. I'll probably do that.
