Mirror Covers... What's the diff?
I've looked and looked and I still can't tell how painted mirror covers change anything. The painted part is still painted, the black part is still black. What the heck does it do?
I would expect these covers to look like this:

but all the ones I've seen so far look like this:

Because without the covers they look like mine, just black plastic. The covers (your bottom pic) add some of your cars color. If you have colored mirror housing or like the black plastic, no need to get them...You could also buy full color mirrors or probably paint these but the color on the black looks nice and a bit sporty to most ppl.
Oh, that's weird. On the Mustang build site, all the models' mirrors are already body paint color. I thought that's how they came, already painted.
So that's why I was confused.
Does anyone know why on the website the mirrors are painted? Did the cars not come like that?

My last car (non-Mustang) had painted side mirror covers, and they ended up scratched to all heck from people "squeezing" by between cars in parking lots, etc.
In light of this, I wish the Mustang mirrors "folded in" to help the inconsiderate ***** who are too lazy to walk around a car when they see they're going to brush up against them.
I never saw "color v. non-colored mirror covers" as a Ford option, as I would've opted for the non-colored covers had I the chance.
