Please stay on topic. There is no point arguing that it's useless or unnecessary. Ford is rolling it out to every vehicle in their line-up so clearly they see a benefit.

Lets focus on installation to help other 2010 owners that want to upgrade their mirrors. First person to post a D.I.Y. with photos gets a cookie

 

Anybody have the part numbers for these? Local dealer's parts department was a little confused and wanted a vin number to order them. I'll just order them online and save money if I have a part number.

 

The part number the dealer gave me was the same as the 2010 side mirror glass. Using a VIN is actually your best bet so that the dealership doesn't screw up. I would recommend finding a 2011 VIN on eBay and give that to the parts guy.

 

i'm not installing the mirrors on a 10 but may put them on my 07. We have the blind spot mirrors on our 10 Escape and I like em.

 

Instead of buying a whole new mirror, why not just buy a small stick on?

Agreed! If its that bad go to the autoparts store and spend less than ten bucks on a small convex mirror, and problem solved.

They are only talking glass. i woudl assuem since i have read the agent 47 mirrors wont fit a 10, and they are designe dto work on 09 down cars the factory 10-11 mirrors wont work on your ride.

I was one of the peopel who didn't like those mirrors orignalyl. After driving the gt500 and the 11 gt for a week each, i am realyl liking them and thinking about doing this as well. the blind spot mirros were certianyl needed with the much taller rear headrests in the 11 stang.

 

just rotate them down when you don't have anybody back there (which is probably most of the time)
