window tint - how dark should i go?
I live in VA where the legal limit is 50/35. I'm thinkin about doin 35/20 but I'm not sure if i wanna do that or 50/35.
Anyone have pics of their car with tinted windows at either of those levels? I dont want it to be too dark to get a ton of tickets, but i also dont want it to not be dark enough.

I think it is 35/20 here but I never thought that was dark enough. I like 20/10 but I usually go with the 35/20 just so I dont have to deal with it.

my car is 35front windows, 20 quarters and rear window
i think it looks nice, you cant tell the difference really, the car is so dark inside as it is the 35% is pretty damn dark looking.
35% is still illegal here in NY i just think im less likely to get my ***** busted, ya know.

take into consideration, that different tint companies look darker and lighter then others. Like my car is Solar Guard tint 35 front / 20 back. I have seen many others with the same setup on mustangs but they have 3M window tint, and theirs looks a lot lighter then mine. Ask to see a car with the brand of tint they use. just my .02
btw Xcelsius, i love your GT500 spoiler, mine is in transit right now, im expecting it this week, that pic just made me excited haha

On my last car I went 10% darker than legal. I got away with it for about 2 years and then got popped and had to strip it off. That was a huge pain. I stayed legal limit on the stang 35% sides/dark as you want on the rear here, but even then, the windows have a very small amount of tint already and won't pass a light filter test if I was ever stopped for it.
I think the bottom line really is this....If a cop can't see into your car, you're likely to get stopped/tested/ticketed.
Then again, it all depends on how bored the cop is and where you live....

But this is from a guy in south florida where 15% is common place and the police don't bother you for it.
