Did you scuff the faux rear cap too? I am going to be blacking my emblems out also.

Hi 05xrunner! Nice job on the paint. I have the exact same car as you do (got mine in Michigan last November!), and I'm also going to be doing the black-out as much as I can thing!

You say you can't remove the rear GT emblem from the trunk? That seems odd to me because I've seen aftermarket blackout panels for the trunk that don't have the GT emblem attached, and similar panels that have the area where the emblem should go indented as if you would remove the emblem, affix the blackout panel, and then reattach the emblem over top of it.

It seems to me that there has to be a way to remove it.

I've also found blackout inserts for the front and back fender reflectors/turn signal indicators. Were you planning on blacking those out as well?

it doesnt look like you can remove the GT emblem..it looks like its a stamped part of the black center..Now you can remove the black center if you cut it out from the back of the emblem..since they melt the tabs back there to hold it in place..but as for the GT itself..I dont think its a separate part from the black center..

Roush offers a kit that replaces the GT logo with a Roush logo. It has a plain black center with nothing on it, and the Roush logo is a sticker. But someone less artistic could do something else with the kit instead of putting the Roush sticker on...leave it blank, or have it airbrushed, etc.

NICE WORK! It looks great! Makes me miss my black '99...but I don't miss trying to keep it clean.

I think I will just remove the faux gas cap and have a shop shave the rear so it'd be flat. I think it's kind of lame the way Ford designed it though.

thats gonna be a pain..not just filling holes. The will have to cut a large section out and replace it and everything..there is a large hump that comes out to meet the emblem for it to attach to the body
