Fog Lamp Install

Fog Lamp Install
I want to install these fog lamps:

Does anyone have positive feedback installing this package? I didn't want to spring $1K extra for the MCoA or Pony packages when all I wanted was the fog lamps, but you can't get them ala cart lol. Although for that extra grand you do get bigger wheels, so it's not a bad price overall. I've gone the bigger wheel route before and ended up regretting it.

Yep I just installed that exact kit from them on mine. Well worth it imo.
Just an fyi for ya though...The instructions that it comes with (which are very easy and detailed) tell you to remove the splash guard under the front end and install them from underneath.
Thats great if you have a lift. For the driveway I found it 100x easier to just remove the lowest front screw of the inner fender (splash guard) and install them from the wheel well. I did it with the tires on which was a bit cramped but worked fine. If I had to do it again I'd likely put it on a jack stand and take the tire off. But either way is easier than what they instruct.
Here's a pic. It's a crappy pic but all I have of it with the fogs...

Looks great! Thank you for the reply.
Did you turn the wheels in at all or just keep them straight? Just wondering if that gives you any more room to work or not. And the auto lamps work on it too? I miss that feature from my Mark LT.

Yeah I definitely had to turn 'em in. I have 18" so if you have that or lower you should be fine. If you have 20's you may need to just pull 'em off. Another thing, if you don't have a stubby (short) flathead screwdriver or ratchet driver get one. A normal size won't fit with the wheels on.
Also the wiring is cake. The instructions for that part especially are great.
As far as auto lamps I'm not sure. I didn't receive a new headlight control switch... It looks as though they just added that... Gonna have to try and get it.

Interesting. Was it less expensive without the auto switch? I wouldn't mind keeping my current headlight switch if it saved some $$$. I got the base premium model with 17s because I knew I would probably go with custom 18-19s later on which was part of the reason I didn't go with one of the other packages.

I just want to make sure I understand though. You did not have to change out your original light switch? Is it the same light switch for the 2011 model? I only have a three position off/parking lamp/headlight switch. If you have the same, does that mean the fogs are always on?

Mine came with only the separate small round fog lamp switch (it's not even pictured on the site anymore..The new one is in the second pic down). It installs on the factory piece under your headlight selector. I had to take off that piece (stock headlight switch plate) and drill a 20mm hole for the fog switch. So no they are only on when I turn them on.
But you won't have to seeing as how they include a whole new switch/selector now. It comes out easily.

I think those are identical kits. The pictures look the same and even the write ups are the same. I wonder who makes the kit they sell, maybe I could get it factory direct and save a couple bucks?
