good news: you only need two
bad news: you need to add a load resistor on the 05-09s to get them to work properly.

The license lights are different.
so i need 2 back-up lamps, and a load resistor for them to work? what is this exactly?

the only resistors they have are ones for tail lights and turn signals, so im thinking for reverse i dont need the resistors? since they are only in use when reversing, what would blink fast?

The 2010+ don't need a resistor. You can just replace the lamps with LEDs from Lethalperformance (or for less $$ from Superbrightleds.com).

Here's some info on the load resistor for pre 2009- cars Red ll iine GT (your turn signals will blink fast):

They do look great! Especially good if you have HID headlamps and are going for the more modern white-light look.
