Tan Cloth Convertible Top?
I'm not a Mustang driver, yet, but I've been eyeballing them, and really think I want a "Performance White" convertible Mustang GT, with tan leather interior and tan cloth top.
To me, that color combo is just *right* in a convertible. A tan top works well with white, as well as other colors. (Looks great, is sun friendly, and doesn't show dirt.)
Now there's a "saddle" leather interior, which I suppose is close enough to tan, but as near as I can tell there is no matching tan cloth top available in the new Mustangs.
I know I've seen previous years of Mustang convertibles with tan tops out on the road. They're not unusual.
I could get it done as an aftermarket mod, but IMHO, it isn't likely to fit as nice or look as nice as a factory top, plus well that's more money spent.
So is this something that Ford is likely to correct in the near future? What are the odds that the 2012 model will have a tan cloth top option? (Is there someone at Ford I can talk to about this? What are the appropriate channels to go through?)
Thanks!

Tan tops are hard to keep looking clean unless you are going to garage. I do not recommend an aftermarket top on a new car, even though the top is not under warranty. My vinyl top still looks new, but if I had the option in 2005, I'd have purchased black cloth.
