We have several basic microfiber towels from Target or a local auto parts store, we just dry as quickly as possible, trying to constantly use a dryer towel and refrain from swirling motions. Microfiber is key to preventing swirls. We also claybar once per year, usually in spring and wax twice per year.

dont be cheap on your towels that touch your paint.
For drying I would say get one or 2 of these

then to remove wax or instant detailers get some of these

make sure you dont let them touch any other surfaces..only designate them for paint..Just cause something says Microfiber doesnt mean its any good at all..9 out of 10times stuff you buy in big stores is junk and will scratch your paint.
Also never wash with bleach or use dryer sheets on them...its best to use microfiber detergent as well.

here is the condition of my paint
swirl free and scratch free...granted I put alot of hours into making it this way..but using quality towels will keep it this way..

i start with my compessor and blow gun from the top down, then finish wiping with the panels in strait lines. i havent yet waxed my 11 but i would wax my 07 twice a year, clay bar once a month, polish and detail once a week, i know that is overkill, but i work in a bodyshop and can get overspray from just being in the parking lot. and can get bad if you dont stay on top of it.
