Removing GT/CS Side Scoops.
Is it possible to remove them without damaging the paint? They look like they're just stick-on, but I would like confirmation. I don't want to remove them, and find peg-holes in the metal underneath.
Yes they can be removed. You need some Fishing line, and a few hours
with the car in the hot sun. (This softens the glue on the 3M tape.) Get the fishing line behine the seam and work it back and forth like floss. Once it started you should be able to grabe it and pull it off.
The 3M tape is a pain to clean off, but it will. I used goo-gone
to get most of it off and then used denatured alcohol to remove the residue.
Some one on another Thread said wall-mart sells a 3m tape remover.
Just take your time. Good luck.

I can echo the other poster's recommendations of hot sun / blow dryer - being able to heat up the tape makes it worlds easier!
Another thing I would recommend, and this is just in case you are super OCD about perfection, as I am..you may want to consider using some painters tape and taping off the area all around the scoop, just in case you slip with either some tools, blow dryer, fishing line, etc. Better safe than sorry!
