Default Brake Rotor advice

I am itching to spend a little dough on an appearance mod. I was looking at a few options and while I want the rear rotor to match the front in size, I just can take a pineapple up the rear and buy the Bear ones. This is purely an aesthetic mod so as long as the car brakes as good as factory, I am good.

This is what I am looking at:

http://www.tpsmotorsports.com/tps-mu...-set-of-4.html

Anyone purchase these? Any other suggestions?

My car has 1,100 miles on it, do I need new pads?
I will eventually paint or powder coat these wheels black so silver or black rotors?

that's a lot of dough to replace something that's already working well with a ton of life left. especially for black rotors, are you trying to hide them ? ..

have you considered painting your calipers? a decklid panel? different wheels all together? boss front splitter? roush side splitters? just thinking out loud - there are plenty of things you could do if you wanted to : )

I have brembo's on the front so painting is out of the question. After seeing a few pics of super snakes, the rotors look so much better. These factory rotors rust like hell and cover the wheels with dust. I would love to hear from someone who has done this mod.

A couple of thoughts. One, I expect that the rotors are the same size as stock; also there is a reason the rear rotors are smaller than the front. The front brakes do most of the work; making them equal size I would think throws brake balance out of whack. And two, while that zinc coating looks nice in the product shots, I would expect it all to come off the main friction surface the first time you apply the brakes. And no, at 1100 miles, your pads are still new.

BTW, like the spoiler. I'm going that route myself.

The TPS (Centric) rotors are the same size as stock. The Baer Eradispeed rotors are the same in the front but the rears are larger to match the front. They provide a caliper relocation bracket for the rear. The front brakes obvioulsy do the majority of the work. Upgrading the rear would not throw anything out of whack except my pocketbook. The Baers would run close to $1,200 vs the Centric running $300. I went with the Centric's! I will post pics after the installation.

all the more reason to paint them! the stock color for the front brembos is depressingly unnoticeable, and the rear brake calipers being a different color all together irks me.

I'll be painting mine for sure. aesthetics wise, it makes a huge impact.

What about the lettering when you paint them? Is the Brembo lettering on them from the factory a sticker? I am just worried that if I paint them, the lettering you can buy will peel off. Where do you even get the lettering?

Yes, the Brembo lettering is a high-temp sticker. Here is a link to another thread that has an Ebay link to the lettering.
