Installed these today, great looking compared to stock black ones... great colour match, genuine Ford parts so no fit problems... would recommend!

Looks much better. So is that Lava Red a limited edition paint color or what? I've never seen that.

 

the tsunami in Japan closed the only Merck paint plant that made it (along with Tuxedo Black) for about 3 - 4 months... so it was a limited production with the supply shortage. Plant reopened and Merck is also opening a second plant in Germany from what I understand.

Lava Red on Mustangs (was limited to Mustang in 2012 but also used on Harley Davidson F150's in other years) and Tuxedo Black on other models was "balanced out" was Ford term for discontinued for that production year.

It is used on other cars too as I have seen Nissan, Mazda and Chrysler but is not a common one for sure.

Ford has not offered it on 2013's so may be limited to the 2012's so somewhat special (at least to me LOL).

 

Like it. Really dresses up the car.
