caliper paint chop - whatcha think?
I've seen some cars that come with an OEM orange/tangerine/gold type of finish finish for Brembo calipers - the 350z comes to mind ..
I threw on my new wheels and was playing around with photoshop - seems like white is a black canvas and you can really go with any color that tickles your fancy .. but orange seemed to tie in well with the sidemarker and looks pretty good. what do you think?
I didn't bother trying to find the tiny rear caliper in the pic to paint it too. I keep going back and fourth .. do I paint that one too or leave it be? I'm not entirely sure I want to 'highlight' a small rear caliper with a brighter color, but I like things to match too .. : /

I dunno...
Its not BAD but given the side markers are the only thing orange it still looks
kinda like it doesnt match the overall theme of the black and white to me.
Have you tried white calipers?
If you paint the front calipers you need to paint the back ones as well.

Go Red or Black.....
The side markers are not something that you want to bring out/bring attention to. Most people tint those to make them more subdued.
BUt then again, if your trying to be different then most people.....go for whatever color you want!
Otherwise....great looking car!!! Im biased I know.

Brake calipers are usually the exception to the rule of clashing. Hence why they are usually bright and eye popping colors. I really like the OPs color. I am all for unique; and it's far from being anything repulsive. Red, Black, etc is overdone and I think white would like the silliest on a white car.
Painting calipers in general is something I steer away from. It looks awful upclose. Almost like a hammertone finish because of the porous surface and just looks cheap IMO.
Not a reference of a color, but the finish... This looks good.

You have a point with painting calipers Menace.
Yes painting the calipers is something that tends to end up getting VERY dirty with time.
So dirty that you can't get it to look near to new.
I learned this pretty fast.
Black may be overdone but there is actually good reasoning behind it.
Believe it or not black is actually the best way to paint if you do at all and expect them to look clean after driving a bit.

If there's something I should add, it is that it's holding up great. No chips due to rocks or junk being kicked up. There are a few chips on the caliper paint, but that was due to the shops removing and putting the wheels back on after replacing the brake pads.

I had ours painted red on our 06GT.
After six months it looked horrible. I could NOT get those things to look even
CLOSE to being clean no matter what I did.
My girl at the time kept telling me "You should paint your calipers again", but
I was too lazy and wasn't going to go through it again just to have the same
damn thing happen.
