Even though 255/45/18's up front and 285/40/18's (or 295/40/18's) out back would have kept the overall diameter closer to the stock, you're not hurting anything (as I'm sure you already know). Do your thing and enjoy!
Car is looking great, and lowering is going to set it off.
Is there a website that explains this? I keep hearing people say, for instance, a 255/45/18 tire will have the exact same sidewall height as a 295/45/18. I thought the middle number is the sidewall height, and is unaffected by any of the other numbers. I keep hearing different things! I have worked on cars for many years, but I have never been a tire salesman, so I don't know what to believe lol
The first number is the section width (in mm), the second is a percentage of that, and the third is (obviously) the rim diameter. There are multiple calculators online to determine the overall diameter.
Late to the party here, but I really have to agree with the others and say that something just ain't right with the tires. Other than that, car looks great. I had that color on my 2010 but went with white on the 2013 this time around.
