Default New Paint Question

My '13 was involved in a collision three months ago. When I went to clean her all up yesterday I noticed the hood and front clip have a rough texture to them. It shines very well but it is not smooth at all. I also have hairline scratches in it from what I can think came from the wash. I didn't wash it any differently than before and I don't have any hairline scratches anywhere else. Does the shop need to do anything or am I being too critical of a non-factory paint job?

Clay baring the area should smooth the finish, if done right it will glass smooth. The scratches might have come from is the clear coat was not hard prior to wash either by you or the paint shop, take it back and complain a bit

Do you have any photos?
And have you tried claying it? It could be bad work on the shops part but it could be as simple as crap in your paint.

I haven't clay barred it. They told me to wait 30-45 days before I waxed it but I could wash it anytime. Yesterday was day 48. I might clay a small section of the bumper to see if that smooths it out. I'll try and post some pics later today.

Clayed it and it is much smoother. Didn't take much either. I couldn't get my camera to pick up the scratches though.

Depending on how bad the scratches are, and I'm assuming they're not much if you can't get them on the camera, try compounding them.
Could polish right out.

You can only see them under flourescent lighting in my garage. The roughness bothered me more than anything so I am pleased for now.
