Default Window Louvres

Two questions about window louvres...

1. How do they obstruct the view? I know you don't see much out of the driver's side quarter window, but what about a right-side shoulder check?

2. What do you think of going with matte black or unpainted black louvres on a black car? I was thinking of doing either a GT500 or RTR rear spoiler also in matte or unpainted black, along with a front lip. Or would this look a little too "couldn't afford paint"?

My wife's ruby red GT has the louvers on them. There is some obstruction to the right. Almost never look out of the left.

Mine is a black GT and will be putting the matte full covers on them. I don't need to see out and want less light in. I think the matte on black looks great!

I'm looking at taking mine off because I got sick of the tacked on look. Clean lines are kind of "in" these days, and the 1/4 window looks really clean on our cars. As far as seeing out of them, I have no problems with mine (Cervini's). Having the see-through slits allows you to quickly see if there's a car back there when changing lanes.

The obstruction isn't bad. You get used to it.

Idk, the paint is really a preference thing, but nearly every time I see unpainted parts or matte parts I think "why the **** didn't they paint those?" The front lip looks good unpainted. A spoiler can look good in matte black, but I generally think of pedestal spoilers being an opposite color from the car. The CS spoiler has the textured plastic matte plastic on the bottom, so maybe cheek that one out?

Anyway, like I said, all preference.

I Was thinking about getting matte charcoal louvers on my yellow gt to match the rims, interior, and stripes which I'm still planning on. I figured why not... It's different from the usual matching louvers and would go with the secondary color of my car. Still undecided though because I feel like I may be too much.

Your car is black though so paint or no paint as long as they're black I say go for it and match it with that spoiler lol.

visibility really isnt that bad, it does take some getting used to tho.....i never realized how much i used the right one when i changed lanes until i put the louver on haha but once you get used to the window being blocked its not an issue

Mine has the 1/4 window louvers from the factory. It took a little while to get used to them, (well the passenger side) as I would never be able to look out the drivers side one.

The only time I ever use it is when backing out of a parking lot, or making a left turn from the center of the highway. I think it would be difficult if the 1/4 was totally blocked off, but you'd get used to it.

Look at the silverhorseracing.com ones. they are my favorite.

I like the look of mine unpainted. Also, the slits in the louvers are at such an angle, that there is very little obstruction. I have no problems at all seeing thru them.
