front license plate

front license plate
I'm going to have to get plates in a few days and just realized I may have to put a license plate on the front since its required in Ohio. This is the first car I really don't want to put one on since the the front looks awesome the way it is. I did make it about a year without one on my 2010 Genesis Coupe before I got pulled over, but just got a warning. I noticed my car has some pre-drilled holes if you get up close, but I'm thinking of trying something like Craig's or STO N SHO. I think the latter looks a little better. What have some of you guys done? Any other ideas?

I did the Craig's bracket on mine when they "reworded" the law here in Texas. No way I was drilling holes in my bumper (didn't come with the license bracket from the dealer). I have been pretty happy with it.

If you take 2006 F150 bracket, cut off the top tabs, the lower tabs will slip between your splitter and bumper. A zip tie will hold it to the lower grill so it wont work it's way out.

I have run without on all of my go fast cars. I have nothing to hide so if I do get pulled over have it under the seat with a couple of zip ties taped to it in case. Most officers are understanding if you're honest that you have it off for asthetics and you didn't just pull some hairball maneuver.

The only issue with running your car without, is that it gives a cop the excuse (probable cause) to pull you over. If you are running a modified car they may check you out your mods more closely, if you're unmodified, they may pull you over just for the sake of pulling you over...
I don't like attracting attention. I'd do a stowaway plate if it were me.

I'm running the motorized flip-down frame available at American Muscle on my 2014 GT.
I have mixed feelings about this thing. Once installed, it's awesome and a great conversation piece. It's barely even noticeable at eye level, so it's great for display. On the other hand, you're always one scrape away from ruining it. Installation could've been a lot better too. The hardware included doesn't work very well with the material under our (2013-2014) front bumper. It's too soft and will easily tear out if you scrape the frame while driving. I ended up using toggle bolts instead to spread out the weight. It would've worked great with my 2005 Mustang with its solid plastic radiator deflector.
Overall, I cannot recommend this with a lowered car, and would baarreelly recommend this for anyone else. I'm not lowered and drive very carefully over bumps, but have bottomed out by mistake after 3 months of careful driving. Luckily, the bracket was barely bent, so I used tweezers to get it back into shape. I can't imagine this lasting me the rest of the year though.

I in fact have the manual flip down frame. I feel similar to Spartan, if you scrape it may be gone next time you get out to look. I in fact I have scraped a few times with it on and it is still perfectly fine. The plastic on the underside of the bumper is scary flimsy so I recommend using nuts and bolts not the screws they provide. I in fact love it, had already been pulled over for not having a plate so this was my best solution.
