Any pictures to show of matte black stripes on your deep impact metallic blue mustang? I was sold on matte black. Getting it next week. Just interested if there's anybody else out there like me And maybe tell me how maintenance has been with the stripes..

 

Hi; I have a 2014 gt race red with matte black stripes, I should have gone with white stripes , they stand out much nicer than black. If I were you I would think about going with white or even the silver stripe package, Remember it is your car do what you like, any other opinions are just that.... Mike

 

And also the black stripes show the dirt and dust , you know black is best when clean, but gets dirty and dusty faster than any other color.... and white or silver would be much easier to keep nice and clean you would not see any swirl marks as you do with black... Mike

 

Yeah, I was about to get glossy black stripes, but was told anything else would be better if I had to get a darker color for easier maintenance like you said. So matte black was suggested and I went with it. From what I seen, matte black is kinda silver-ish.. but definitely not solid black from what was shown to me. Just two more days till install. Can't wait. All I'm concerned about now is canceling my membership with a car wash I've been going too. I'm nervous chancing a car wash messing my decals up. :/ Especially, after reading online that non-glossy decals can't be waxed. I know they would try not to wax the stripes but being in a hurry things happen and that's what I'm imagining. Btw.. red, blue and green are my favorite colors for mustang. When I had my 06 mustang, it was race red and everybody told me that color was a cop magnet but I never got pulled over. I think they were exaggerating.

 

ive gotten wax on mine before isnt terrible to get off i just used one of those pink pearl erasers,

 

Oh, wow. That's an intriguing solution you've come up with. I like it. What gave you an idea to use an eraser?

 

an old detailer told me about it, just dont use to much pressure.
