does anyone know of a California carb legal throttle body for the 2017 3.7L? The BBK 73m fits years 2011-2017 but the carb number is only legal for years 2011-2014. I went through the same issue with my BBK shorty headers in that they're made for the engine but the carb number is only valid for older models, I had to remove them when I was cited for my exhaust and had to go through an inspection with the state ref.
Is there another company that I'm unaware of that makes a carb legal throttle body for the newer models, or does anyone know if BBK is working on updating their part to be legal for newer models?

If none of the big aftermarket companies like Steeda, American Muscle, etc list an aftermarket CARB approved throttle body/exhaust for your car, that kind of answers your all your other questions....

 

This is what I am doing for my 2017 3.7l convertible. . I am ordering a brand new OEM Ford throttle body, (part # AT4Z9E926-B) cost is about $55 with shipping from a discount on line OEM supplier. I found a company on line (actually a one man business with excellent reviews) in Deland Florida that bores these larger and adds a new butterfly plate for $125. He will also machine down the throttle shaft for addition air flow for another $35. Total cost $ 215. Compare that to BBK at about $445..
This will give me an original Ford part with no after market CARB hassles.
