Default 2011 V6 performance upgrades??

Alot of talk about the new 5.0, but what do you think the gains are going to be for the new 3.7 with boltons?? I know its not as exciting as talking about the 5.0, but givin the jump in hp i would assume the aftermarket will be more supportive for the V6 now.

I want to aim to put my foot in my mouth and say exhaust , tune and CAI will have the car in mid 320's or a little more.

I think the 3.7L with stock 305HP will be
more squeezed at the factory than
the 4.0 was to get 210HP out of it.
Less upgrade wiggle room on the 3.7L
cus Ford already 'tuned' it.

I agree, there may not be a lot to do with bolt on gains with the 3.7L. It already has some very sophisticated engine technology, custom tuning, cold air induction, and performance tuned dual exhausts with an x-pipe.

It also has a pretty high compression ratio (10.5:1), which may not prove too favorable for supercharging.

From what I can tell, the single best performance upgrade from stock is getting the 3:31 rear axle (it comes with the performance package).

I sayd I was putting my foot in my mouth on that lol, thats what I hope they will push but I do not have my heart set on it. Remember they are 4v engines , not 2v so the response to mods will be significantly better.

Vista - yeah the compression ratio is high but as long as you have a tuner who knows his stuff you should be safe. 10.5:1 high compression with 6lbs of boost should be a nice little street machine.

well the new camaro v6 gets about 40rwhp with basic bolt-ons and no tune. this was done on a Cadillac CTS 3.6 by D3. i believe a lot of that may be because the engine is DI but with a tune and bolt-ons im sure the 3.7 will be making an impressive amount of power.

a lot of people have said that the 5.0 wouldn't gain much from bolt-ons and a tune because of it compression ratio and that it is "tuned" from the factory but it is gaining 36 rwhp with basic mods.

I agree , I think the 3.7 will out shine the Camaro v6 tho. What I really want to find out is what aftermarket cams will do for this engine, I bet they will expensive but should have some serious output. The more I talk about this car the more I get excited.
