help v6 build

i am currently rebuilding my rod bearings on my 99 3.8L ive heard you can throw a 4.2 crank in and keep the stock rods jus replace the pistons. any one know anything about this???

Maybe you would get a better response in the right V6 section. This is for 2011 V6..
