AmericanMuscle 2011 Mustang V6 Auto - Stock vs. Tuned Track Results
UPDATED WITH VIDEO!!
After extensive dyno testing, street tuning and datalogging, we knew to go further with the 2011 V6's we'd have to purchase one of our own.
So this last weekend the AmericanMuscle team brought our brand new Race Red V6 3.7 Auto down to Cecil County Dragway in Maryland. We wanted to get a really good baseline of what this car is capable of at the track. With less than 100 miles on the car, stock tires, stock pressure, stock everything - we let her rip!
On 87 octane, the car went a best of 14.271 @ 100.10 MPH! Not too bad for a stock auto V6 Mustang (compare historically)! With the 2.73's you can let it rip pretty hard! The car is a pleasure to launch!
So with that being said, it was time to see what a Bama custom tune could do. Keep in mind, this was again - 87 octane, fresh off the showroom floor (same tank of gas)! With nothing other than a calibration change (87 Performance), we were able to get her down the track in 13.73 seconds @ 104.04 MPH!

*Sorry about the crap iphone4 picture & disregard reaction times, we were focusing on a consistent launch and the best possible results.
Video to come this week! Tell us what you think?

Holy crap. That's huge. You guys didn't get a chance to run the 93 race tune? I would've loved to have seen what the difference was there
EDIT: Just noticed you were running 2.73's in it as well. That time is amazing. Makes me feel like a 93 race tune, CAI, 3.31's in a 6spd manual could be really low 13's at around 107-108mph. That sound right?

That definitely sounds right! Still thinking about the direction that we want to go with the car, but I'm thinking 3.73's and a CAI/Tune with 93 octane should take our auto down in that range. Might have to swap out for an NT05 or NT555R in order to make it happen?

If you're going FI, I'd love to see if X-Charger or someone puts a nice positive displacement blower out on the market.

My car. 2011 v6,,mods....Bama tune 91 oct,performance, C&L cai, 3.73 gears. AUTO!!!!
Though I have not yet taken her to the track, this car rocks. I mean the power is great.
Winter is about to set in here where I leave. To cold to go. But I belong to a local Mustang Club and when they have a track day next year, I will be there for sure. To me the car just feels like it should be mid 13"s in 1/4.
Anyway I have wanted to put on a SC but I think I will back off that part. The car is just perfect the way it is now.
Stock it had 2.73.
This article made me happy.
