Default delayed deceleration after full throttle acceleration

wondering if anyone else noticed a slight delay in deceleration after full throttle acceleration 2011 mustang v6 auto
I have noticed that when I really get on the throttle, and the car is accelerating, into high revs, there is what seams like a split second delay when I let off the gas, like the car wants to keep going. It drops right down but feels like it takes a second to react??

Interesting... How many times has this happened? And have you added any mods?

Not a surprise, the opposite happens on acceleration. That's the price of a computer controlled throttle. I'm not a big fan of the delay on acceleration either, haven't noticed the problem on deceleration, but I rarely floor it and have a manual transmission.

Read the manual. It should explain something along the lines that if you push the accelerator all the way to the floor, it will initiate a forced downshift. That would explain the delay in rpms going down and in deceleration, if this is happening.

no performance mods. It happens when ever you floor the peddle ,it down shifts just fine and goes like hell, but back off and for a split second you get the sensation that it is going to Keep going. very unsettling the first time I did it, now I expect it so not a real problem. I think the fly by wire is the reason.

The computer controlled throttle thing I believe IS the cause,. Just wish I had a heads up the first time I floored it. You have to re-estimate the distance in front of you if you are closing on another vehicle.

That problem is pretty prevalent, but rectified with a tune. It's one of the many benefits. I just went back to stock to take my car in for routine service and am reminded of how it normally responds. Not bad, but could be better.

Reading this is making the 87 street tune seem even more appealing as my first mod when I get the car.
