First 2011 v6 turbo?
I have searched EVERYWHERE to see if anybody has put a turbo in the '11 v6.... to no avail.
Because I really know nothing about turbos (other than simple stuff), I have looked at eHOW's turbo page and would like someone to use compressor maps to tell me what universal turbo works. My buddy is a great mechanic/welder but if it's not by the book then he doesn't want to screw it up by going too big.
So here is what I have so far;
1. I would like the turbo to be most effective above 4000rpm (as to save gas mileage on highway and regular driving)
2. I think 7-8lbs of boost is safe enough with a fairly stock engine and regular gas. I have CAI & full exhaust w/tune. Am I right?
3. I plan on slowly converting this car to a weekend warrior at the track. I say slowly because right now my saving grace with the wife is great mpg (hence the v6 instead of the gt...)
4. I know the turbo won't hurt mpg at the lower rpms but will kill it up high.... I do understand this.
So, can someone help me out?! or do you need more information?

for those of you who don't want to read through the link in Joenpb's post, here it goes.
So far they are thinking Garrett's GT15 turbo will work safely at 8psi with overall hp going up to around 530.... i doubt this but 480 isn't to far fetched and thats still crazy for only $700 and a little bit of fabbing.

$700 doesn't get you a turbo. I am also doubtful if they are using a GT15 they they can make an additional 225HP when the specs for that turbo are about 200HP max. Doesn't mean they couldn't make more power with a bigger turbo, but I don't think that particular one will get you there unless I'm reading old info.

If you are not going to use an intercooler then 7psi might be pushing it. Plus you know you need larger injectors and a custom tune.
Everything you want is just what the Procharger supercharger kit is delivering.
By the time you built a full turbocharger kit it would cost about the same.

I am not one, but there are two members here that have 'em (SC_Kona_Blue being one of them). Think he has something like 460 at the wheels(?) with a full Bassani exhaust and headers. Think that's with up'd boost to 8.5 or 9, or maybe that was someone else. Would be rather disappointing with 460 at the fly, from what's been pub'd on the Procharger.
