I just checked mine - it looks quite similar, even though not as bad

Wow looks like you have a gater under the hood! I've never seen one that bad. Is it some type of coating that has cracked? It kind of reminds me of that crap that MAC coats their exhaust with.

So we expect that is my average mpg combining hwy and road performance driving

Or is it just a joke ?

As our friend with the 300 hp and 30 mpg ......that road racing mpg right? from the digs n all.30 mpg

So if he does the fill up count miles ,top off ,measure milage vs gas and drives like a banshee?

I thought I just said 412 hp and 29 mpg which is on the window sticker.

Under ideal conditions 29 can be milked out of the car but why.

Yes i am factory tune so no not using my 412hp ,assumed.

But the not driving correctly is kinda the equal of callin mom a ho .

Sure honestly 19 20 mpg the way i like to drive .

i want to see the 30mpg "correctly driven" car.

ummm your car is 18/25 or 17/26 depending on if its its auto or manual, thats why I was skeptical of how you are hypermiling to acheive 29mpg

I get 30 when I cruise at 70 on a flat road, generally I average 24 with a 70/30 split on city/hwy

'ummm your car is 18/25 or 17/26 depending on if its its auto or manual'

so why put a window sticker claiming ot
herwise. those are not the numbers on the sticker.

And I agree ,I cant dream of how id get 29 mpg unless my wife was driving.

I was referering to nothing but the window sticker which listed every option i have

2011 window stickers don't claim that the GT can get 29mpg highway...

Take a look: http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m...dowSticker.jpg

Also as a correction from something you said before, the stock tune produces 412hp so you are indeed rocking 412hp even with a stock tune. If you had a modified tune you'd be looking at more like 450hp.

In any case, you can't realistically get 29 combined mpg in the 5.0. Yeah, the car is impressive and can get great mileage for what it has under the hood...but not 29mpg under anything but the most perfect conditions. I drive my 5.0 conservatively on the highway with a modified tune and I get 27mpg with cruise on at 63mph. That's pretty damn ideal and I don't even hit 29mpg.

Off topic though.

I wouldn't worry about the block unless you feel any other problems with it. After all, with the power-train warranty lasting a while you should be fine drive the car like it was meant to be driven!

Oh don't worry I don't really mean to sound critical. Sorry! I just finished up final exams for this semester so I'm still a little wired from all the stress. I haven't brought mine all the way up to it's maximum speed but do take it up to about 130-135 from time to time Always a good time. For me it's the city driving that kills me, because I'm the type that likes to fly away from every light, not burning rubber but pretty fast take offs. Lot of fun! But not so fun for the wallet lol.
