Default Does the 2011 V6 have a speed governor?

Hey guys I am new to the forum and new to the Mustang gang. I have a 2011 V6 6-speed and was told it has a speed governor. I was told the top speed is only 114 MPH.......is that true? If so that sucks. I want to eventually do some modding.....tune, exhaust, suspension work, gearing and so on. So what I am wondering is, will a new tune delete the governor? I did a search and found no useful information.

Thanks for any information you all can give.

Normally you will have to manually input the removal of the speed limiter. It was very easy for me with the SCT tuner. Even a caveman can do it. I hit 125+ on a private road this month with much more speed availeable.

I don't know about inspections too much (being from the great state of michigan), but I don't see a reason for them to check.

How would they check? I'm certain it's not illegal. Why would it be?

LOL! That's what speed limits are for. If you get caught then you pay!

Actually, if you have the 3.31 rear-end, 3rd gear tops at a little over 100 so you hit the limiter in 4th lol.
