Default Muffler Swap

Looking to swap my stock V6 mufflers for 2011 GT stock mufflers. Will this work without mods. Would like to get better sound and have access to stock set of GT mufflers

They are different diameters but I think a shop could do it for you. Not sure you'll get the sound you want out of them though since a lot of the sound from the GT exhaust is coming from those eight cylinders.

I figure, if Ford could've got by with a standard muffler for both engines then they probably would've. It would be cheaper to standardize.
My take is that the GT mufflers sound like a$$ on the v6, and so they needed a different set up just to get them off the dealer's lots.

I've never heard them on a v6 yet, so post a vid when you get them installed. It might be interesting to see if my theory is right, or out to lunch.

Different dia. tubing... but a muffler shop will get them to fit, I would rather do a one-off from a 'known' exhaust company (Magna/Borla) if I was gonna go that route.

I'm very happy with my Pypes mid mount mufflers. They completely change the tone and aggressiveness of the car.

The V6 mufflers sound good at start-up but mellow out very quickly. Very different from my 69 Mach 500Hp w/flow masters that I just sold. But alteast the V6 gets a heck of a lot better gas mileage and I can drive everyday. Any good ideas budget wise to improve the sound?
