Ahhhh ... I see option code "453" IS still listed in the 2013 Canadian Order Guide but NOT the US version. Possibly an accidental ommision as I can't see Ford eliminating it for the US but not Canada.

If anyone is interested, here's a link to the 2013 Order Guides and Canadian Price List AND now the US Price List ...

Doug

AND YES, the "453" axle option is also listed in the US Price List, so it was just an "accidental ommision" in the US Order Guide.

I'm not so sure where you get your facts from, but I don't believe that to be entirely true (unless of course, I've been out of the Mustang Forums too long and 3.73's have become the norm around here.)

In any case, I rock 3.55s.

If you read around here, maybe you'd get the impression that most people have 3.73s, but in reality I bet a lot of mustang owners don't even know the difference.

Most probably don't know the difference or that you can even do it. I based it on reading posts on this forum. 3.73 gears come up more often than 3.55, 4.10 or others. Not saying it is the right choice for everyone, just seems to be the most common choice.

That's what I have. Perfectly happy with them. I think they should have been included with the performance package, or have a separate track package with them.

FYI to all, As another Canadian I can vouch for this:

Our "packages" in Canada are different than in the USA. Here, if you buy a Premium V6, you automatically the get 3.31 rear diff. Just google the Canadian brochures and you will get all the confirmation you need. Or you can just look at my car for proof. On the stock tune, my RPM @ 75mph is close to 2100rpm. Do the math with the manual ratios and the 3.31 rear end and you will see that it comes out right.

Recap: In canada you get 2.73 with base coupes and 3.31 with premium models, regardless of if it's Pony, MCA or performance package equipped.

We already pay a lot more than you do for our cars, it's only fair that we have more standard factory equipment

...and you have to drive the in more snow, so might as well have fun while weather permits eh?

Whatever ratios you get, they are not that bad to change if you want something else. I'd be more worried about limited slip or open diff. I'm guessing the 3.31s all get an LSD?

All 2011-2012 mustangs get Limited slip diffs regardless of chosen ratio.

Driving a Mustang in the snow with the right winter rubber is actually not so bad at all. It just sucks in the ice, like on a highway that's been covered overnight in freezing rain and has now become a hockey rink... fun times. In the snow though, I'd pass a lot of FWD and SUV drivers LOL.

I have a 2012 v6 premium that came with 3.31 gears. I am upgrading next week to the 3.73 gears.
