Default 2011 v6 driver side sloshing after rain

Hi all,

I have read on here about the other water leaks in the 2005+ models. After a heavy rain last night I have sloshing that sounds as if it is just behind me as I drive. Trunk and interior are bone dry.

Any ideas? Is this the same problem as with the others? I have done several searches but must not be asking it correctly as I can't find a post that addresses this..

Thanks for the help!! I just got her 12 days ago and the smile won't leave!!!!

L~

Make sure the cowl drains on the fire wall are clear. Water will collect in front of the driver and passenger just in front of the windshield.

It's possible the drivers door has a blocked drain, look along the bottom edge, there are 3 drains with small plastic inserts from the factory, remove the inserts and flush along the window with a hose, leave out the inserts when clear.

Thanks very much!! Is it normal though for rain to drain through the door itself? does this not lead to long term rust or body damage?

It's normal, the water gets in at the base of the window, no way to seal it 100%. There is a water/moisture shield inside the door, it keeps the back of the door trim panel dry and directs the water to the drain holes at the bottom of the door. As long as the water flows you should be fine, if you get debris inside the door or if the drain holes plug then the door stays wet inside and it will rust over time.
