Under 35 ? Please don't view this post...yeah, I know you looked anyway - don't bother flaming....

Point of the story - recently bought a 2011 3.7 convertible(prem/pony) and took my first longer all highway trip..I was delighted to record 32 mpg on a longer highway trip ( 2 hrs) in western NC (rolling hills) top down with cruise set @ 70 mph

The brochure doesn't lie...

I'm 25, and i'm very happy with the performance of my 3.7. I enjoy taking cruises with my wife around town or on some nice trips to the coast. Don't assume the younger guys don't enjoy joy rides as well :P

Bah ! Either way, I still get great gas mileage as well! I suppose next time i'll look at the context of the post, rather than posting a quick reply. My bad.

Default I was indeed

>>I think he was trying to avoid having people make fun of him enjoying getting good gas mileage? <<

I was indeed...anyway I am in shock it actually does that (at 70 with the top down) I thought only a coupe would touch the 'advertised' 31 mpg, and that while crawling along at 55 or 60..

The challenge, of course, is keeping your right foot out of the gas (which I do enjoy!)

Thanks

Gotta tell Ya as we say in NYC, I drove from NYC to Massanutten VA in August with long stretches of 75-80 and averaged 31 mpg in my 12 vert premium with the top up. My wife said top up or she would rearrange the family jewels to the same degree that her hair was rearranged by 6 hours of top down at 75-80. Needless to say the top stayed up until we got off the interstate at Charlottesville VA.

I have to say, I don't understand why you're assuming people under 35 don't like to get good gas mileage or will immediately flame you for being happy for it but OK. Congrats on the mileage! Must be a great feeling (best I can muster in my '06 GT is 22mpg regularly lol).
