take good care of that Cyclone 3.7L

Its sad to think but I could see the 3.7 get even less love then the 4cyl. I always get asked "Is that a GT? No. Oh. Why didnt you get a V8?" Now its going to be something along the lines of "Oh it that the 2.3T? No. Oh. If you didn't get the GT, and its not a 2.3T....then why drive it? Its only a V6" or some **** like that.

I love my '13 V-6, and with my CAI, it sounds great when I hit it. The 4 cyl is only supposed to be 310hp but higher torque than the 3.7l. I think the new stang looks like a 2 door Fusion. Glad I got mine before they screwed up the design.

I'm very interested to see the price difference between comparably equipped 3.7, 2.3t and 5.0s. The price spread between the current v6 and v8 leaves enough room for a whole bunch of mods that get you close to 5.0 performance. If the price between the 3.7 and 2.3t is more like $2-3k, then either you need to leave the v6 stock or just pay the extra money for the 2.3t. If it's more like $4-5k, then you can install gears, intake and exhaust mods for the v6 for $2-3k that will get you to about 350bhp for less than the unmodded 2.3t cost. However, I suspect a simple $500-750 tune for the 2.3t will get you to 360-410bhp.

I feel similarly. My little 3.7 rocks. I turn a lot of heads and surprise a lot of v8s on the road. I have actually taken down a few 5.0s and SSs. Challenger R/Ts were never really a match when I was stock and most of them never want to play anymore anyway.

Another thing the 4banger motors have going for them as well is they should be lighter then the 3.7's. I don't know if the new design of the car as a whole is any different weight-wise, so that would determine the benefits of a lighter motor.
I'm still happy with my car and it's powerplant. The aftermarket will probably not expand for it any more then it has, and the 2.3 will likely get flooded by the aftermarket. I BET Livernois already has a tune in the works for the car. They have a 12sec explorer with just tune/exhaust, and I believe a tune only/minor weight reduction SHO in the 12's, amongst many others, so they have experience with the EB lineup.
As much potential as the new EB motor has, I think the new styling neutered Ford's sales bigtime, especially the base models.
Speaking of the 3.5 EB, I would LOVE to do a 3.5 swap into a foxbody, an SVO particularly. Tune and a little exhaust in a ~3k lb car, would make for a fun, unique, quick ride!

I don't know about it not expanding. There will always be buyers for the base car which will continue to add to the 3.7 population pool which will have a 4-5 year head start on the 2.3t. No doubt there will be an immediate aftermarket response to the turbo, but the 3.7 already has a whole bunch of stuff that can be done to it to get to 500 hp for less money than a stock GT costs.
