I'm curious as to what mods sound the best on our v6's. I know the Axel back is number 1, but what mods come next for sound? I'm torn between a cai (with tune), a set of shorty headers or an H pipe w/ stock cats. Beyond that I don't know much about what can add a nice sound, still a relatively new car guy.

I've seen countless vids, they just don't go into detail about which mods sound better Vs other mods. And half of the cars aren't stock so mines won't sound the same. Just wondering what route I should go next for a louder deeper sound without removing the cats

not sure what year you have but American Muscle has some vids of their exhausts that you can check out, the cars are stock. I would not remove the cats, 1 it's illegal and 2 IMO it makes it sound like crap

Headers, intake, and exhaust... Though the V8 from the start would save you all
that expense.

Yeah I know the v8 sounds way better, but that's not really an option for me. I already have the borla s types Axel back and they sound great. I'm just looking to increase the volume a bit and/or lower the exhaust tone. I'm looking between an intake, headers or a x or h pipe. Leaning towards the intake. The h pipes I've seen sound good, but 90% of them are off road with no cats. Headers I've heard gives you minimal sound, but good performance boost. So I'm just weighing my options.

the intake won't change your exhaust tone, headers will and I am not sure what the H or X pipe will do in changing the sound of the exhaust
