Question Interior noise!

Greetings, all. I just joined this site, so pardon me (and inform me) if this topic has been covered previously. My V6 ('Premium') is a great driver, and a good car in most respects. The one thing that is irritating (or 'ear-itating') is the noise level inside the car! Engine/exhaust sound would be easier to take; but this is road roar, tire noise, coming thru the chassis and sort of echoing with a droning sound that can get fairly loud. Do other owners have this issue?
I'm wondering if there are practical solutions that would reduce this sound; or do I have to accept it as a 'build feature?' Would sound-deadening materials make a noticeable difference?
Suggestions appreciated! Thanks.

Are there any modifications to your car? My 2013 never had noises like you describe, even after a custom exhaust that was pretty loud.

However, I did have noise from tires that could be heard in the cabin. Have you checked the tires to be sure that there isn't an issue with them? I had mine "road force" balanced to take care of tire noise.

Thanks for the quick reply, Jim!
I got the car third-hand, from an owner who was not too savvy about Mustangs. The possibly modified parts that I've noticed are: K&N air intake, cross-brace struts on front and rear suspension; panhard rod on rear suspension. The tires are Summer, 'performance' tires, and I run them at relatively high pressure (36 psi).
So.... 'anything strike your notice?
Thanks.

Suspension changes -- are they rod end? The rod end style are always going to introduce more noise to the cabin. Why are you running the tires at higher pressure instead of the 32 lbs recommended? Just wondering. That isn't likely causing more road noise however, but balance and feathering of the edges could do that. I had my summer performance tires on the 2013 road force balanced and that took care of excessive road noise for me. Which performance tires are they?

Running higher tire pressures mostly to get better fuel economy, but it does make for a harsher ride. I'm keeping an eye on tire wear in the middle band, but it looks okay. The tires are Cooper Zeon RS-3S; 'seem to have good response and road holding. Nothing has prompted me to check balance or alignment. I'm not aware of any suspension mods, but haven't looked underneath.

You said suspension mods:
cross-brace struts on front and rear suspension; panhard rod on rear suspension
which is why I mentioned them. But now you say you aren't aware of any suspension mods? I'm confused

What size tires and age? Reduce your tire pressure to what is recommended on your door plate, and if needed gradually increase it to where you are comfortable.

Thanks, Roy. Ya, I intend to do that, and see how it goes.

Okay, 'sorry for the confusion. Let me clarify. I'm not sure if you'd consider the coss-braces as 'suspension mods,' technically. Maybe so; it might be debatable. ;-) Also, I'm not familiar enough with Mustangs to know what was stock and what's considered a modification. Ditto for the panhard bar. I assumed (perhaps wrongly) that 'mods' would be things like different springs and shock dampers.

When you mentioned the panhard bar the assumption was that you meant an aftermarket version - otherwise why mention it?

he possibly modified parts that I've noticed are: K&N air intake, cross-brace struts on front and rear suspension; panhard rod on rear suspension.
Every S197 Mustang has a panhard bar. It is needed with the 3 link suspension. "cross brace struts" front and rear suggests that you have something added as well - maybe explain what you mean and that will help determine if you are referring to something stock. Without an idea of what has been modified no one can do more than guess what is causing your noise.
