it's either called the 338 or 339 familiy cast..just like the what 260/289/302/351w...same family..

i forgot about the 390 for uptop.....not sure where the 460 fit's in.

This is what I've been told and this is what I've also read in book/magazines/internet, etc.

A stock 351W block can handle 600rwhp. a mexican early model 69 block can handle 750rwhp. The R351 can handle 1500hp.

that sounds about right....
this is what got me...since i'm building mine back up.i never really noticed that my dss block cylinder walls are way thicker than a stocker....we compared...what also is odd is that the block has a bolt pattern for like a power glide?...

How much thicker are they? Also, is your stock trans going to bolt up to that ?
