maybe someone already answered this in some way but i just got a 94 mustang GT with the H/O 302, my dad has a 93 F-150 with a 351 W, both are EFI. how big of a deal is a rebuild and swap? is the engine from the truck not going to work in the car?

rebuild is just like any other engine.

swap is pretty easy too. get a 351w intake (you really dont want the stock one...), the FRPP oil pan conversion kit, a new balancer, and a new flywheel. Some high pressure fuel tubing, and fuel injection hose clamps.

and a taller hood

needs a different pan for a HV oil pump right?
any way to save the hood so it's a sleeper?
and the truck has an auto, but the 94 has a 5spd, with the stock 5spd live behind that monster?
will the stock springs hold up under the weight?
will a stock fuel pump put out enough vol/pressure?

ok, I still have to figure out what year the truck is exactly, but... 88-91 f-250, 351 EFI.
I know I need a different oil pan, lower intake and headers, but what is the deal with the accessory brackets? will it just not fit under a cowl hood or do the trucks use different size a/c compressors and power steering pumps to where the mustang accessories wont match up to the brackets?

What would be a good setup as far as fuel and MAF goes? fuel pump/injecor/MAF sizes?

Then i read that a 28oz 157 tooth imbalanced flywheel will be needed because the truck flywheel is different and wont match up to a mustang trans. Im pretty sure the truck has an AOD so if I just built that trans I should be fine, right?

Thanks

Default 83 lx mustang.

I have a 1993 f150 just sitting dued to the wreck. (still runs)

I also have a 83 lx(aka 4 banger) sitting with no engine or transmission.

if I took the time to swap the wires and ecu from the truck over. is it possible to here that beast in my mustang?

will the 4 banger engine mounts work?
what about my transmission, the truck has a ford racing auto trans.
what about drive shaft, would it be to long or too short?
I rebuilt engine myself, have put edelbrock heads, intake on the truck.
i have new gaskets all over, have forged flat top pistons, forged connecting rods. the truck is non usable. (got hit in side) and mechanically everything's fine, starts up and runs. but got a huge dent on the passenger side. not worth the pain to get fixed.

just simple questions for now. to know what im dealing with.
my 83 is not efi, no computer or anything.
but I can do a custom setup with what i have in the truck.

will a 5.0 oilpan bolt up to a 351w block?
is it feasible to make it a 408 stroker?

ok, Shimrra... the oil pan wont work off a 5.0, the 351 block is wider than the 5.0, if you can afford the 408 stroker and the heads and air/fuel delivery to match... go for it.

Johnryanh228, the 4 cyl mounts wont work, upgrade to 5.0 mounts at least, but otherwise the engine and trans should work fine, with a little creativity you should be able to stuff that motor in there no problem

for my project, I found out that its a 90 f250, but the truck does have the AOD behind the motor so I'll just build that up, forget about the flywheel question, I now know that has to do with a manual trans setup. But I have planned out what I am going to do... I am keeping it fuel injected, upgrading to a Typhoon intake and 30lb injectors, with a 75mm MAF and TB, 1-3/4" shorty headers and leaving the lower stock. Until I get the money then I am going to throw some AFR 185's on there.

If anyone thinks the 75mm setup isnt the best or I wont need 30lb injectors please feel free to comment

trucks use an E4OD trans = WAYYYY too heavy for your car...

and a Typhoon manifold and 75mm TB are way too small for a 331 let alone a 351W...

depending on the build 30#'s might be fine...
