Carb or EFI you got a BIG engine it's gonna suck gas.

EFI "should" give you better mileage, that's what it was made for really.

EFI is easy.

Stock HO 5.0L mustang computer uses same firing pattern
engines are same basic size so stock 5.0 wiring harness will fit
stock 5.0 fuel rails will fit, you just have to lengthen cross feed line.
use a GT-40 5.8L/351W intake manifold from Lightning truck
.......( on ebay all the time and only the lower half is different can use 5.0 upper. )
will need to get custom chip from someone like Diablo ( $200-300 i think )

Carb:

buy a lower intake and carb

Mine gets 17+mpg city/hwy combined with:
TFS engine kit (1.7RR's tho)
24# injectors
190lph fuel pump
Elect. Fan
Underdrives
Most everything but a supercharger/turbo/nitrous

I was getting an average of 17mpg, and just over 20mpg on the highway.

Use an A9* (MAF) computer and you will not "need" a tune. A tune is not a necessity.

You can bolt a 5.0 Cobra/GT40 upper to a 351w Cobra/GT40 lower. There is no 351w lower that will bolt up to the stock 5.0HO upper.

Don't use the truck cam that is in the motor now. You will not be happy with the powerband. I tried it with a stock 351w from a bronco, and it was not what I had hoped for. A fairly wild cam for a 302 will do very well in a 351w.

Then again if the heads are stock 351w heads, then it won't matter much what the cam is. The heads are the weak link.

I have a writeup on my site for swapping a 351w into a Fox 5.0 Manual.

I would post it but it is long, and I don't want to have to re-format it again.
